Shaolin Kung Fu originated at the Shaolin Temple in Henan, China in 527
A.D. and is considered the "grandfather of Asian martial arts" because
it is the root of other popular styles such as Karate, Judo, and Tae
Kwon Do.
Shaolin Kung Fu is a tremendous form of exercise that
strengthens and conditions the entire body. Kung Fu training combines
physical effort with mental concentration, resulting in a more
demanding workout that harmonizes the mind, body and spirit of the
student. The student develops a much greater overall athleticism and
awareness of the body. The regimen is demanding, but with consistency
and proper guidance, students see and feel results in just four to six
weeks.
Shaolin Kung Fu is a system of self-defense techniques
which maximizes the power and speed of the body through relaxed natural
motions making it easy for anyone to develop their potential. While all
martial arts styles are effective for developing self-defense skills
when taught properly and practiced correctly, none of the "offspring"
styles display the same combination of power, speed, fluidity,
flexibility and aesthetic grace of the Shaolin forms.
